Turning Your Passions Into Poems

Author: Danielle Hollister

Writing poetry can be a phenomenal method for writers to reduce stress in their life.

If you can utilize your personal wisdom and individual insights into life to produce poems about real experiences, you may actually achieve two goals:

The elimination of stress - by putting your feelings into words on paper

The dream of getting published - because your poetry will be heartfelt and thus meaningful to others too...

Many renowned poets were motivated to write from their own life experiences.

Your unique perception of every day occurrences can be transformed into practical advice and publishable poetry. Poems can be written about almost any subject you can imagine.

Contrary to common belief, poetry does not necessarily have to rhyme. It can written in various forms, as long as it conveys meaning, produces a picture in the eyes of your readers, stimulates people in some way...

Think about the following scenarios in YOUR LIFE:

Consider your latest personal crisis - Ask yourself questions like:
What was it about?

Who was involved in it?

Why did the events happen?

How did you feel?

What did you learn from this experience?

Reflect on your most recent positive experience - Ponder questions like:

What made you happy?

Why did this occurrence make you feel good?

Who was involved in this event

What did you gain from this encounter?

How could others benefit from this story?

Look at the last week in your own life - explore questions like:

Who influenced your decisions?

Why did certain people effect your life in specific ways?

How could things have been different if your chose a different path?

What prompted you to make the decisions that you desired?

What motivates your desires?

If you can honestly evaluate your own impulses, you can probably develop poetry to reflect your emotions in such a way that other people will be moved by your prose too.
