When you have your site up and running, one of the first tasks you should assign yourself is to begin submitting your site URL to all of the search engines that will accept your site. URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. Your URL is your web site address starting with "www" and ending with "com, net, or org". To find the submission page for the search engine, look for a link that says "Submit your URL". This link is typically located at the bottom of the home page for the most prominent search engines, while for the less prominent they are located at the top. You can even use search engine submission services to submit your site URL to the various search engines. For a list of submission sites, just type "Free URL Submission" into any one of the search engines mentioned above and you should get ample options.
